Performance Chart February 2018

This year starts off like a rocket. The last month felt like the blink of the eye and we are already a few days into march. It is about time to sum up what happened in the shortest month of year:

Thinking about February leaves me kind of shaking still. The last month was even colder than January. Temperatures around the freezing point may sound like nothing to some of you, but around here, people ( including myself) are just not used to such temperatures. However, the coldness offered some advantages: No rain, almost no snow and a few beautiful, clear days of sunshine…

Now, I know I haven’t post a lot of “Today’s Ride” updates, but if you have been following me on Twitter, you know I still spent some time on the bike. The thing is, I’m always trying to keep the “Today’s Ride” posts as interesting and entertaining as possible, which has been difficult in February, since I used to mainly train at the Kidney race track. This would have been like 4 or 5 posts in a row about the race track and more than a dozen pictures of it: Let’s be honest, that would have been the opposite of entertainment, right? But don’t worry, I have a lot of upcoming ideas for the next weeks and months!

Anyway, nice small talk about the weather and stuff, let’s start talking about my performance on the bike during the month of february:

Despite the freezing coldness, I managed to get 5 times on the roadbike for an overall distance of 138,47 km / 86,04 mi.
I’m kind of happy with these numbers, because this means, I did an average distance of 27,69 km / 17,21 mi per ride, which is above the 25 km / 15 mi goal I was aiming for this month…

So far, so good, right? However, march has arrived and a new month definitely needs new goals: This month I’m trying to raise the numbers of bicycle rides I’m doing over the whole month to beat the number I achieved in february ( 5 ). At the same time, it would be awesome to raise the average distance at least a little bit to an average of 28 km / 17,5 mi.
By the way, the local forest are open to the public again. So, maybe, after weeks of pure roadbike exercise, there will be a little mtb action in march…

Have a good day!
